Here is a list steps that you should follow to establish your advocacy business:

  1. Get your EDPNA designation or get in a training program to prepare for the exam via CPSHR
  2. Business name
  3. Custom logo
  4. Business phone number (zoom or ringcentral) avoid using your personal cellphone number.
  5. Look for office space or work from home
  6. Custom domain name and web page with
  7. Setup domain emails or create google email addresses for the business
  8. Business cards
  9. Register your website on Google and other search engines
  10. Add your business to Google maps (optional)
  11. Network with local doctors, clinics, attorneys, social workers, etc. and get them to start referring clients to you
  12. Get your new client into a CRM like Dibcase so you get started on the right track from the beginning
  13. Join nadr.org which is a network of advocates helping advocates. You can learn and ask questions on their forums.
